The Brazilian Canoe Confederation (CBCa) is pleased to invite your Federation to be represented at SLALOM PANAM CHAMPIONSHIPS 2007 and Itaipu International Slalom Racing, to be held in FOZ DO IGUASSU (PR), from March 16th to 18th, 2007.
The SLALOM PANAM CHAMPIONSHIPS 2007 will be exclusive for all COPAC (Pan American Canoe Confederation) members while the Itaipu International Slalom Racing will be open to all ICF federation members.
The Itaipu International Slalom Racing will be a “Type C” ICF competition with no limitation of participation.

Course: Itaipu White Water Canal, by Itaipu Bi-national Hydroelectric (IB)
Water control: The Itaipu reservoir provides 14.000 m³/s for electricity generation. There will be a steady flow of provide 12,5 m³/s for canoeing competition purposes. The flow will be set by the start inlet and kept constant during the competition.
COMPETITION AREA
Warm-up area: Upper Lake with 12,7 ha (500 m of flat water) and the end of the Inlet Canal (small rapids).
Cool-down area: Lower lake with 1,5 ha (300 m of flat water)
Course length: 375 meters
Course Drop: 8,22 meters
Flow: from 6 to 12,5 m³/s
Width: 15 m
Competition course: 250-280 meters chosen from the total course
ACCREDITATION, TRAINING AND COMPETITION
Accreditation center: At the IB Tourist Reception Center. Data and pictures must be sent through www.Foz2007.org.br prior to the race for the accreditation card which will be mandatory to enter beyond the IB Tourist Reception Center.
Training Period: From March 1st to 15th, free of charge (from 16th to 18th – competition), according to training groups to be divided depending on the total number of boats. Training reservation is mandatory through www.foz2007.org.br before February 23rd.
Programme for competition: The competition will be open for any competitor that is entered by his/her national federation - Type C, with no limitation. There will be one competition only, as Itaipu International Slalom Racing and from this competition a results list will be extracted exclusively for American Continent athletes to establish the final ranking of the 2007 Pan American Slalom Championships. Qualification race should be on Saturday 17th, Semi and Finals on Sunday 18th in the morning and Teams race (one run only) in the afternoon.
